Race 1

9 – 4 – 5 – 14

I am like most and tipping MORE SUNDAYS who is very well bred and impressed on debut at Geelong winning in good fashion but there is no way I think he is entitled to be well into the red. He looked the part winning a recent trial at Rosehill and should find a nice spot but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t start closer to evens. Ranier has only raced twice and both runs have been tip top with the latest against a filly I have big raps on Miss Fabulass who runs later in the day. Aristocratic Miss showed she is a handy filly earlier this year up here in Sydney and resumed with a dominant win at Geelong albeit on the Synthetic.

Race 2

6 – 5 – 9 – 1

SOUCHEZ should be cherry ripe following two runs back with nothing going to plan at his latest effort a fortnight ago. There looks a nice solid tempo which should allow him to settle then unleash his dash. Abdon has only raced in Australia once and was very good at Caulfield. He resumes here off a nice trial and I expect him to run well. The Melbourne visitor Streets Of Avalon will race on-pace and only needs to bring the form from down south to give a big sight.

Race 3

5 – 6 – 2 – 3

SAFE LANDING is coming off a big win at Goulburn and if he can offset the wide barrier quickly he will be a major player. He has only raced three times and prior to that win at Goulburn he had run two placings in town. Tristan De Angel is resuming and this time it’s at the 1400m so expect him to be more forward and ready to go. Athonis and Cisco bay are both capable of playing roles.

Race 4

2 – 6 – 8 – 10

BRIMHAM ROCKS resumed at his second Australian preparation and was very good when running third here four weeks ago over the mile. He steps to 2000m and I think as long as he gets luck from gate he will be very hard to beat. The favourite All Too Soon was good winning last Saturday and is a chance but she takes on the boys here and jumps quickly to the distance. She is being set for some spring riches so you’d imagine she would need to be hard to beat here. The Lord Mayor is the query runner having been well backed four weeks ago but failed. He has been back to the trials and if he fires he can play a major role.

Race 5

1 – 5 – 2 – 3

A small field and in reality only two chances but what an exciting race it’s going to be. I think there is nothing between them here for the simple fact that Invincible Star is ready to rock with a couple of real hard trials and will be flying along in front and be hard to run down. Redzel has proven his worth as a sprinter and will be charging hard in the final 100m at the mare. I’m sure of one thing that if Invincible Star can’t beat Redzel here she won’t beat him in the Everest.

Race 6

12 – 2 – 9 – 1

With Pierataout it has certainly thrown the race wide open. Chris Waller’s pair Comin’ Through and Tom Melbourne shouldn’t be underestimated as they have trialled very well and by resuming at the 1400m they will be able to be nice and handy and be ready to play. Tom was able to win his latest trial and maybe that will give him the confidence to go on with it race day. Comin’ Through is class and shouldn’t settle that far off the speed. Lanciato charged home first up over 1200m being Pierata and Kementari running sizzling sectionals so he could easily blow them away here. Le Romain was very good to us first up when winning here and he can win again as his price suggests as he is favourite but i thought Siege Of Quebec got closer than he was entitled to and Boss Lane was third just worried me a little for  a horse dominating the market.

Race 7

10 – 15 – 7 – 1

I thought the first up run by CABEZA DE VACA behind Winx was very good and as long as that effort has flattened him he will run well. He has drawn a perfect marble and will race on-pace and is a winner of three from four runs second up so must respect. Unforgotten also ran well behind Winx and she is all class so must be thought of as a major chance here. Prized Icon will need luck from the wide barrier but if that happens he will run well off the back of a very good first up run. It’s Somewhat looks big odds to me first up off two trials and is a winner three times fresh.

Race 8

12 – 1 – 3 – 4

Fiesta won the Silver Shadow first up with Outback Barbie running second and Oohood finishing fifth beaten just under two lengths. Fiesta got the favours but was still strong in winning while Outback Barbie was doing a swerving act in the straight and charged hard to just miss while Oohood got a mile back and kept working to the line but gets blinkers added here. Pure Elation resumes having not raced since winning the Percy Sykes stakes back in April beating Fiesta and Outback Barbie so the form all ties in. The form line that doesn’t is MISS FABULASS who raced twice and looked good but this is a big step in grade for her. She looks the part and I think is ready for the step and from a nice gate she will make her presence felt.

Race 9

7 – 3 – 5 – 9

Really keen that we can finish the day on a winning note with former European galloper BEST OF DAYS who had his first Australian start here two weeks ago and finished a solid seventh beaten three lengths behind Kaonic. He got a long way back and found plenty of traffic jams in the home straight and although on paper he goes up in grade from a benchmark 89 to a 94 there is no Kaonic’s or Shogun Sun’s in the field. He drops 3 ½ kilos into this race and if he gets the chance to wind up I think he will run over them. Sambro resumes and will run well while Sir Plush jumps up in trip and will likely settle closer aiding his chances.
