Miss Iano to chase wet tracks in Brisbane

Victoria’s Mark Webb is one of the few trainers who hopes wet weather returns to Brisbane after his mare Miss Iano set herself on a possible Group One path at Doomben on Saturday.

Miss Iano ($14) made it two wins from four Brisbane starts when she beat Taillevent ($7) by two lengths with a half neck to Sonny Legend ($16) in the Pullman Brisbane Airport Hotel Handicap (1200m).

Cranbourne-based Webb was at the Wodonga races on Saturday but stable representative Andrew Homann said better things were in store for Miss Iano.

“She really is a swimmer and any rain would help her chances in bigger races,” he said.

Webb has only two horses in Brisbane but is considering sending more north for the winter.
