Revengeance seals Golden Slipper berth with dominant Golden Gift win

Revengeance has locked in a spot for next year’s Golden Slipper after a polished performance in the $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) at Rosehill.

The Tulloch Lodge colt collected $580,000 for the win, guaranteeing his qualification for the world’s richest two-year-old race.

Co-trainer Adrian Bott said the stable would now “work back from the Slipper.”

“As to what the path is — whether we try the Blue Diamond or the Inglis Millennium — we’ve got a few options,” Bott said. “He’s got the money now.”

Like 2024 winner North England, Revengeance had run third in the Breeders’ Plate before claiming the feature.

“It counts for so much,” Bott said. “He was unlucky in the Breeders’ Plate but really consolidated today.”

Ridden by Josh Parr, the $2.60 favourite settled behind the speed before sprinting clear to beat Spicy Miss and stablemate Plagiarism.

“He’s improved every time I’ve sat on him,” Parr said. “Today he flattened out beautifully. I can’t wait to see him in March.”
