Trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr are aiming for a maiden victory with Rosangela when she races at Caulfield on Saturday.
The daughter of Too Darn Hot will compete in the Next Payments Handicap (1100m).
Rosangela has shown promise in her first two starts.
On debut, she finished fifth behind Palm Angel in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on November 30. She then returned from a break to place second at Cranbourne over 1000m on April 24.
Kent Jnr explained that Rosangela had a setback after her debut, which led to her missing key autumn races like the Blue Diamond Series and the Golden Slipper.
He believes the 1100m on Saturday will suit her better, following her strong first-up run.
“In the Merson Cooper on debut she had an issue after the run,” Kent Jnr said. “She came back and was very good first-up but was just out collared late by a more experienced race fit horse. The 1100 metres should suit her on Saturday.”
Rosangela, drawn barrier seven, will be ridden by John Allen.
Stablemate Millennium Blade, a debutant by Too Darn Hot, has drawn barrier three but is unlikely to race, as she is also an acceptor for the Group 3 David Coles Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.
Ben Melham will ride Millennium Blade, who has drawn gate six at Morphettville.
