Former stuntman turned trainer Jeff Dunn has claimed the biggest win of his career with Sha Of Gomer capturing the Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m) at Grafton on Wednesday.
Ridden by his wife, Rikki Jamieson, the $10 chance settled just off the speed before surging clear in the straight to defeat $4 betting favourite Compelling Truth by 1.25 lengths, with Barber ($6) third.
Dunn, who has around 15 horses in work, said the moment would be tough to top.
“This would have been great for me but I will never surpass this in my career now because Rikki was on,” he told Sky Racing.
Jamieson was thrilled to share the milestone, saying, “Doing it with Jeff makes it better for me.”
Sha Of Gomer’s win followed a strong second in the Eye Liner Stakes and gave Dunn confidence in the gelding’s short, sharp turn of foot.
It was Jamieson’s first black-type success since winning the 2014 The Phoenix at Eagle Farm.
