Best Bets:

EACH WAY R9 N11 HANWRITTEN

EACH WAY R5 N8 SEA THE SPARKLE

ROUGHIE R11 N11 MAKE MY OWN LUCK

Race 1

Market fluctuations could be a good lead, with the Waller pair 3 ESTIKHRAAJ & 4 EXOTERIC hard in the market. Can’t be too keen separating these, with 2 MORENDI & 6 FIRST CRUSH both winning chances also. Leaning to 4 EXOTERIC who was good winning first up, then was no hope from back in the field last time.

Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 3

Bet: WIN 4 EXOTERIC

Race 2

4 ROBBERS COBBER was a good effort when leading last time, when leading and getting run down late. He gets to the 2000m fit and ready, and the claim for Jean Van Overmeire looks very suitable. Can position handy to the speed and is the horse to beat.

Numbers: 4 – 1 – 1 3 – 7

Bet: Each Way 4 ROBBER COBBER

Race 3

10 PRUES ANGEL was an eye catcher last time, bursting through late and just missing the prize. She gets a nice run in transit here, and with clear air late can run over the top of her rivals.  7 IVE GOTTA NEL the only other winning hope.

Numbers: 10 – 7 – 20 – 21

Bet: WIN PRUES ANGEL

Race 4

Ripping 2YO race with a number of hopes. I’m hoping we get a drift on the price of 5 PLUMARO. She was the obvious flashing light run last time, after coming from an impossible position. Hopefully that race experience and the winkers help her keep in touch early. If she’s within striking distance on the corner she can round up her rivals.

Numbers: 5-1-6-9

Bet: WIN 5 PLUMARO

Race 5

8 SEA THE SPARKLE got back from a wide gate and made good ground late last time. From the better barrier here, Bridget Grills can get the horse to settle a bit closer on a good speed and be too strong late.

Numbers: 8 – 7 – 4 – 1

Bet: EACH WAY 8 SEA THE SPARKLE

Race 6

1 HONEY TOAST was a good effort first up from a long spell, didn’t get a lot of galloping room and still finished off well. Would have made him a good thing if he was here third up, but still think he’s good enough to win. 2 BRAZEN MOSS the hardest to beat, the lack of tempo may be against him here, but racing well.

Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3

Bet: WIN 1 HONEY TOAST

Race 7

4 BREAK TIME is a horse I have a share in, who deserves his crack in town. He is 5 from 5 since joining Ben Currie, and is a good hope here. 7 AMENZEL the clear horse to beat for me. Wins have been excellent his last 2, both in good time, and from the nice alley gets every hope.

Numbers: 7 – 4 – 5 – 16

Bet: WIN 7 AMENZEL

Race 8

9 MR MARBELLOUZ couldn’t have been more impressive last start, winning in near track record time. If he can begin clean again here, he will lead and win. The only danger was 10 OINK but with him being scratched Mr Marbellouz is the standout

Numbers: 9 – 14 – 11- 6

Bet: WIN 9 MR MARBELLOUZ

Race 9

11 HANWRITTEN with no weight might be able to bounce on the bunny here and rip around to speedily for his rivals. It’s a step up in class but has the advantages of the good gate and no weight.  His win first up over Oink and Prioritise was good and should only be fitter again here.

Numbers: 11– 10 – 6 – 8

Bet: EACH WAY 11 HANWRITTEN

Race 10

1 GULLY COMMAND is a grand old campaigner who was super first up. He loves the sting out of the track, so any rain will only further help his chances. With a few of his main rivals drawn wide, he’s an excellent hope of sitting ion the first 6 and being hard to hold out. 9 BERGERAC is a horse I have a lot of time for, awkward draw but a hope with luck

Numbers: 1 – 9 – 8 – 2

Bet: EACH WAY 1 GULLY COMMAND, doubling my bet if it rains.

Race 11

11 MAKE MY OWN LUCK resumes here after a most impressive 2YO season. She was listed placed and ran second to HOUTZEN amongst those efforts. Joh Zielke is an astute trainer of young horses, and this filly was up there with our best fillies in QLD last season. She returns anywhere near her best, which reports are she is going well, she will be hard to beat.  2 SETOGA was an impressive winner last start, albeit against inferior opposition than here. A likely improver again here second up, he looks hardest to beat.

Numbers: 11 – 2 – 3 – 10

Bet: EACH WAY 11 MAKE MY OWN LUCK
