BEST BET:              RASPBERRY ROSE R5#6

BEST VALUE:        RELIABLE DAME R8#11

Race 1: 4-1-3-2

Good little race to start this meeting. LAGERFELD walked in at Bairnsdale ($1.55) to break maiden after good ability shown first 2 starts. Can take the leap to a BM64 here but has threats from THE MAYOR, already a BM64 winner in town and EAGLE RIDGE resuming, bat Pleasuring before a break. BEAVERBROOK was 1.8 lens from The Mayor at Sandown, has place hope small field.

SUGGESTED: LAGERFELD looks the way to go in competitive race.

Race 2: 2-6-9-8

HOLLYWOOD VINE (ex Smerdon) is odds on this morning and the one to beat off pacy 2nd on debut Adelaide. THE WILD CAT was right in betting on 1400m debut Bendigo, back to 1200m looks better placed. HELL OF A TAIL (well named, one of the few to race by Shellscrape who noticeably sired progeny without normal tails) ran on well in 1000m Bairnsdale maiden resuming.  Wants 1200m now, TRULY A STAR isn’t and may want further than 1200m but can run into a place.

SUGGESTED: HOLLYWOOD VINE should justify short quote.

Race 3: 10-8-2-7

Out to 1400m leads me to ENSISHEIM off the back of 2 useful efforts in solid maidens 1100m and 1300m. Needs to jump cleanly but can finish a race off. Obvious danger is favourite ANNANICOLESNITZ, placed both runs resuming from long break. Can race handy and a tempo at 1400m gives it top chance. FONTEIN ALI had excuses (thumps) for poor last run, freshened for this and ARBINGER was well beaten Stony Creek debut but should have finished closer.

SUGGESTED: ENSISHEM on top, clear quinella with Annanicolesnitz.

Race 4: 10-12-6-4

INDRABEEL had excuses when a costly $2.5 flop Cranbourne, following a $2.35 2nd when no luck Bendigo. Few gear changes and got to think its here day here. THINK I’M DREAMING a threat out to 1717m at 3rd run in. they stand out from MANESTEAM – also a plus at 1717m and expect COUTINHO can improve in blinkers

SUGGESTED: One more try with INDRABEEL.

Race 5:  6-5-8-2

Wanted to back RASPBERRY ROSE in a city race resuming but they’ve waited for this option. Brilliant on debut then ran $1.90 when it all went wrong at Benalla. The one to beat. MAHLANI the clear danger resuming, ran well in fillies’ races then went deep end 1000 Guineas Prelude when showed pace as $101 chance. Good option here. PAGEANTRY proving costly but goes in as 3rd quaddie pick.

SUGGESTED: RASPBERRY ROSE to return a winner but only 3 in quaddie.

Race 6: 6-8-5-4.

Another shortie here in Mick Price’s ROSEWEDGE who won a BM58 here and doubt the BM64 going to be much tougher. Will get right run. RED GUCCI won well resuming Donald BM58 – Moor and Hassan working well together. Skinny race again.

SUGGESTED: ROSEWEDGE wins again.

Race 7: 5-3-4-1

VIKING RAID was a well held 3rd as a $3.2 favourite in town last start, makes own luck, should roll forward and be hard to beat here. BUCKLER wants 1400m now, can make a case for it. Favourite here is ROSSMAN who won its maiden in town riding the speed. Obviously a must. RIPPLEBROOK will appreciate grade drop.

SUGGESTED: Few chances here but VIKING RAID on top.

Race 8: 11-7-3-1

Couple dropping out of stakes grade on top here. RELIABLE DAME looks SA Oaks bound, had a crack at G2 level last time but really think can wind up late at the end of 1717m today. CASTLETON was obviously well held in G2 Alister Clark (Cliff’sEdge/Levendi) so this more suitable. SEATTLE PARK comes back in a trip, NOVA JOE was in hot race Flemington last time and a 4.8 lens last is not as bad as reads.

SUGGESTED: Like RELIABLE DAME at the $6.

QUADDIE:
5-6

6-8

1-2-3-4-5

1-3-7-11

$40 for 50%
